This incredible human lit up our world from the day he entered. I miss him every day but we are the luckiest that he chose our family and all of you, his friends, colleagues, and teachers, for his short sweet time. Brilliant. Joyful. Dedicated. Humble. Jake. I have nothing but respect, grace, and gratitude for him. He did so much for others, was always ready to jump in and offer his exceptional talent and genius to any problem or task. He could always find a way - for him, everything was figure-out-able. He worked with such diligence and persistence, and never asked for anything in return - was just happy to be able to help. Thank you, my beautiful boy, for making our lives brighter than I could ever have imagined. Until we meet again, Love you so much, mom

Jake was one of the smartest people I knew! I got to know Jake over the years while taking classes with him. He was always so kind and had a great appreciation for the outdoors. Jake and I took multiple of the same classes for a couple of semesters and I love working on our homework together. Some of my favorite college memories are staying late on campus as Jake and I worked on our computer science homework. He knew how to make me laugh and it was always a good time! I loved to hear about his exciting adventures and his motorcycle. Jake was a loyal, kind, thoughtful friend who was deeply admired by anyone he came in contact with. Jake will be missed! Thank you man for all the amazing times!

I will always remember Jake because he was so incredibly kind. He helped me in many ways from being a supportive friend to being an ambassador within my company. I’ll never forget a week-long trip we took to Lovers Leap and Tahoe to rock climb. I’m a lucky guy and better off because of you, Jake. I’ll carry your spirit into the mountains every time I go.

I knew Jake best when he was in elementary school. A young whipsmart, beautiful boy with blue hair. His kindness to his sisters, his gentle personality and his big, beautiful smile graced us all and we are all so grateful. Climb on Jake!
